Built on trust.
Guided by purpose.
Impact Wealth Partners is a family practice built on a simple conviction: your financial plan should reflect your life, your values, and the story only you can tell.
A plan built around
your story.
“Everyone’s financial story is different. My job is to understand yours — and together we build a plan that honors your story.”
Michael Peterson is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® professional and co-founder of Impact Wealth Partners, serving clients alongside his wife and co-founder, Jill Peterson.
As a fee-based fiduciary advisor, Mike believes financial advice should be transparent, personal, and always aligned with the client’s best interests. His compensation is straightforward, and his success is measured by one thing: helping clients achieve the life they envision for themselves and their families.
When clients work with Impact Wealth Partners, they work directly with Mike — not a junior associate, not a call center, and not a revolving team of advisors. Every relationship is built on trust, accessibility, and a genuine commitment to understanding what matters most to each client.
His guidance spans retirement income planning, investment management, Medicare and Social Security strategies, tax-efficient distribution planning, estate planning coordination, and long-term wealth preservation — approached as one connected plan, not separate pieces.
People First
Financial planning is ultimately about people, not portfolios. Michael takes time to understand what matters most to you before recommending anything.
Transparent
Fee-based compensation means no hidden agendas. You always know exactly what you’re paying and why — before any work begins.
Love God. Love People.
It’s more than a motto — it’s the foundation for how Michael serves his clients, leads his family, and approaches every relationship.
An advisor who found
his calling.
Michael’s path into financial planning wasn’t linear — but it was deeply intentional. After earning his degree in economics, he opened a small business while working as a bank teller to help support his young family. That opportunity led to a role as a personal banker and eventually to financial advising. Through those experiences, he discovered that his greatest professional fulfillment came from helping people make informed decisions during some of life’s most important transitions.
Known as “Mr. Personable,” Mike has a rare gift for connecting with anyone. He believes every person has a story worth understanding, and that listening well is just as important as giving good advice. Clients describe him as kind, trustworthy, and refreshingly down-to-earth — someone who truly cares, works hard, and always follows through.
Outside the office, Mike is most at home in the great outdoors. He enjoys hiking, big game hunting, and vacations with his family. A lifelong Minnesota Vikings fan — and as a teenager, a ball boy for the team through his uncle, who served as the team’s business manager — he brings that same enthusiasm and loyalty to everything he does.
